Few artists of any genre come into the industry with a resume as storied as DeWayne Woods. Woods' luminous vocals have graced recordings by some of today's biggest talent, including mega-pop star Celine Dion, jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum and Atlantic Starr. He has also backed some of Gospel's finest such as John P. Kee, Kurt Carr, and Karen Clark-Sheard, before throwing his hat into the ring as a solo artist. Under the guidance of producer extraordinaire Donald Lawrence and fueled by the hit song "Let Go," DeWayne Woods' turn as a solo artist was every aspiring singers dream come true. Spurred on by the success of the song, DeWayne's debut album DeWayne Woods & When Singers Meet went on to win 4 Stellar Awards including Song Of The Year, Male Vocalist Of The Year, New Artist Of The Year, and Urban Inspirational Single/Performer! With the new release My Life's Lyric, DeWayne Woods is poised to make 2010 another remarkable year in his successful career.

Woods moved from behind the scenes to center stage with his debut project Introducing DeWayne Woods & When Singers Meet - the first release from Donald Lawrence’s Quiet Water Entertainment under the Zomba Gospel umbrella. The CD surpassed everyone’s expectations, selling tens of thousands of units and garnering five 2008 Stellar Award nominations (Song of the Year, for “Let Go”, written by P.J. Morton, New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Urban Inspirational Single/Performance of the Year and Recorded Music Package of the Year). Woods turned four of those nominations into Stellar gold, receiving recognition as New Artist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Urban Inspirational Single/Performance of the Year; Morton also won for Song of the Year. The project has peaked at 5 on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums and the CD’s first single “Let Go” rose to the 4 spot on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs Chart.

Also an actor, Woods has appeared in a number of stage plays with artists such as Peabo Bryson, Dave Hollister, Morris Day, Deniece Williams, Dottie Peoples and Cuba Gooding, Sr. He also starred in the musical stage play “Sing Hallelujah”, the brainchild of Donald Lawrence and Worth Gardner.
