First, we want you to know that for us this is a ministry, not just a nice way to promote a book online. We both are passionate about seeing our peers develop to their true potential by applying the truth of God’s Word to every area of their lives—particularly in the area of intimate relationships. § encourage yourself with the Word of God when you feel like giving up on relationships.
I (Chris) have conducted more than 150 one-hour teachings in the last two years and few topics generated the level of interest as the ones on “What the Bible Has To Say About Relationships.” People in the group came to a fast realization--however they were “doing relationships” was just not working. Despite successes in other areas of their lives, they were yearning for the one thing--an intimate relationship with a member of the opposite sex, leading to marriage. As I began to teach on the subject, my heart grew heavier each week as people confided the pain they were experiencing, directly related to a relationship they had been in, or were still in. They were trying desperately to strip themselves of the shackles attached to their hearts. We too have experienced the pain relationships can bring, so we know from whence we speak (or write). We are not above you, we are with you. Pam and I are fortunate in that we are able to draw from a strong foundation of healthy marriages. My parents have one of the best relationships I have ever observed--51 years of a marriage characterized by love, commitment, respect, and faithfulness.
I (Pam) learned from the many godly married couples I had the privilege of hanging out with during my formative years as a Christian. My parents were also married for 35 years. Together, we want to make known to you everything God has made known to us about how to prepare for and experience a healthy, thriving relationship, in Word and in deed. Yes, preparing for marriage while you’re single is the crux of our book, His Rules and the focus of HisRules.com. Lack of preparation before marriage is the key factor causing unprecedented pain and damage to the family. Dysfunctional marriages produce a generation of children who are scarred and scared of commitment. (Know anyone that fits this description?) And the cycle continues. Key question: Will the buck stop with you? Let’s swing the pendulum back towards restoration! If we will seek God’s perspective, humble ourselves, and commit to being doers of His word in this area, and not just hearers, we will have successful and lasting relationships!
